LIVE OAK ELEMENTARY HOME & SCHOOL CLUB (PTO)

Welcome and thank you for visiting Live Oak Elementary Home and School Club (LO HSC)!

We are a group of volunteers that work to enrich the student programs at Live Oak by bringing together the families, teachers and staff, as well as community members.

By working together, we can use our resources to find funding, improve facilities, and provide enriching opportunities for our children. Your involvement, on any level, is encouraged and appreciated.

The mission of the Live Oak's Home and School Club is to help make Live Oak a wonderful place for children to learn and grow, by:

  • Promoting communication to create a closer relationship between the home, school, and community building community spirit and involvement
  • Encouraging family participation at our school to enable our students to reach their fullest potential
  • Coordinating fund raising activities to enhance and enrich the programs and environment at our school

We are a non-profit organization, which means donations to the HSC are tax-deductible.

Special "High Interest - Low Leveled" book collection in Library (2015-2016)

Books to create a special shelf in the library.  A collection of "High Interest - Low Leveled" books for our older students in need.  We want all our students reading books that are just right for them, and some need more time to get where they should be.  This shelf will help them get their while building confidence in their reading skills.  The more confident they become to more they will challenge themselves.

Outdoor Science School Assistance
Financial assistance to the 5th grade class to help lower the cost of Outdoor Science School for all students and their families.  This once in a lifetime sleep away, learning experience is valued by the staff and especially by the students.


Books for Classrooms & Book Cart with Books for Library (2014-2015)
         

With the recent success of our Book Fair HSC was able to build classroom libraries along with adding books to the library collection.  Our library has also received a new book cart to hold new books to make it easier for the students to find the high in demand books.

Con el reciente éxito de nuestra Feria del Libro HSC fue capaz de construir bibliotecas en las clases junto con añadir libros a la colección de la biblioteca. Nuestra biblioteca también ha recibido un nuevo carro de libro para sostener libros nuevos y de esta manera sea más fácil para los estudiantes encontrar los libros de alta demanda.


 New Play Structure

Home and School Club fundraised money for the school's new play structure that is used by all the students, the after school program and visitors over the weekend.

El club de Padres Unidos recaudo dinero para la estructura de juego utilizado por todos los estudiantes, el programa después de clases y visitantes durante el fin de semana.


Computers in the Class Room

Home and School Club paid for computers in the class rooms allowing the students to use interactive learning applications.

El grupo de Padres Unidos ayudo a comprar las computadoras en las aulas, que permiten a los estudiantes a utilizar las aplicaciones interactivas de aprendizaje.


The School Garden

Every Year Home and School Club donates money to the Life Lab, our school garden where the student’s learn about plants, bugs, and the life cycle.

Cada año el grupo de Padres Unidos dona al laboratorio de la vida, nuestro jardín escolar donde nuestros estudiantes aprenden sobre las plantas, los insectos, y El ciclo de vida.


Performance Stage & Curtains

Home and School club was a major contributor to the school's performance stage.  This includes the raised stage, stairs and side and back drop curtains.  Our school hosts multiple performances throughout the school year and this stage make each and everyone more enjoyable for those watching and well as those performing.


Video Collection in school library

Home and School Club purchased videos to help establish a solid video collection of educational videos to support classroom curriculum.
